Metal Based Oak Coffee Table

Found in a field next to a garage near a creek, under some destroyed wooden doors, was this metal worn out base. The grass was over-grown and partially hiding this base. The owner was preparing to clear out the area and toss a lot of the stuff out. Then a solid oak back-splash of a retail store display rack was destined for the trash. The third item of this new table was a discarded old window frame. The metal base was sanded, rust removed and treated and the silver and black patina was left alone. The oak display rack was dismantled, cut into measurable slats and spacers, then attached together after it was sanded and stained. The added wood-trimmed design on each alternating corner of the table was the final touch which came from a weathered and discarded outdoor window frame. The results...a very heavy and eclectic awesome one-of-a-kind coffee table. Can be used in a contemporary setting, a chic traditional arrangement, a mission or country cabin look. Nice!
Excellent table for a sitting area in a coffee shop!
